Role Summary
Treasurer is an executive member of the Board of Directors. Responsible for overseeing the financial integrity and sustainability of MTBCO.
The Treasurer ensures accurate financial reporting, supports budgeting, fundraising and grant compliance, and provides guidance on financial matters to the BOD. This role helps ensure the MTBCO remains financially sound while supporting its mission of trail maintenance, advocacy, and promoting mountain biking in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Maintain oversight of the organization’s financial health and budget adherence
- Present clear and timely financial reports at board meetings (monthly/annually)
- Prepare period and year-end financial statements
- Assist with annual reviews or audits (as required)
- Present summaries and dashboards using Google Sheets, Excel, or Notion.
Bookkeeping & Transactions
- Bookkeeping
- Manage online banking and payment platforms for e-transfers, direct deposits, and account reconciliation (e.g. Shopify, PayPal, Stripe, Eventbrite, etc.)
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and ensure timely deposits and payment posting
- Manage accounts payable payments and accounts receivables collections
- Review and approve expenditures and reimbursements in accordance with budget
- Set up and monitor donation platforms (e.g. Stripe, Benevity, PayPal, Eventbrite, etc.)
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Collaborate with the BOD and stakeholders to prepare an annual budget aligned with strategic goals
