The Vice President (VP) of MTBCO plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing the organization's mission to promote, develop, and maintain sustainable mountain bike trails. The VP works collaboratively with the President, Board of Directors, and volunteers to oversee strategic initiatives, foster community engagement, and ensure operational excellence. This position requires a strong passion for outdoor recreation, advocacy for trail sustainability, and the ability to inspire diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the President and Board to set and execute the association’s strategic goals.
- Provide leadership in planning new trail systems and programs that align with organizational values.
- Support efforts to secure funding through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local governments, land managers, community groups, and volunteers.
- Represent the organization at events, public meetings, and with media to advocate for mountain biking and trail access.
- Develop initiatives to engage diverse communities and increase membership.
Operational Oversight
- Work with the board members to manage budgets, resources, and project timelines.
- Assist in the recruitment, development, and retention of team members and volunteers.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trail-building projects and community programs.
- Collaborates on all MTBCO initiatives.
